The Thredbo Snow Sports offers group and private lessons for all ages and stages, a range of special and all day programs and even a learn to ski or board guarantee. Lessons are no just for first timers, they are for anyone who wants to sharpen their skills and take their riding to the next level in a fun and exciting environment.
Beginners (Level 1 to 3) |
br>
The beginners slope at Thredbo is called Friday Flat, it has a name so you can curse it when you fall over! It has right lifts and right angles to help get over the first time tangles.
They recommend you take at least a few lessons so you can pick up the basics, like stopping and turning. With a few tips under your belt you will progress in the easiest and safest way, so you can take on the mountain in no time. "Thredbo's Magic" is a great way to kick start your on-show career. This includes a 2 hour group lesson on Friday Flat, and access to the Thredbo Sno Runners all day. The Snow Runners are an easy to use conveyor type lift that takes you smoothly to the top of the gentle slopes, just step on, take the ride, then practice all your new skills as you slide and glide to the bottom. |
Intermediates (Levels 4 to 5) |
Thredbo’s intermediate haven is the Cruiser area. These trails are dedicated to riders who only want to cruise, no speed demons here! You will have a blast on runs like Walkabout, Playground and Ballroom. The great news is these trails are all fully covered by snowmaking.
When you’re ready to take it up a gear, the long and varied terrain on the Supertrail and High Noon are sure to provide plenty of thrills with up to 5.9km of trail to conquer, or step off-piste for the ultimate test. br>

If you’re cruising with confidence but want to take your riding to a new level then book a lesson with the Thredbo Snow Sports School. Their fun and professional staff will teach you all the technical skills so you can tackle the mountain in style. |
Advanced (Levels 5 to 8) |
Thredbo has the longest and most vertical terrain in the country, with natural hits, wind lips and powder bowls to satisfy even the most advanced riders. Thredbo's off-piste areas are up there with the best in the southern hemisphere. Whether you are taking on the rollers and kickers off Karels, pumping the boards in the powder off The Bluff or laying them over on the early corduroy of the Supertrail you'll have a blast in Thredbo.
Threbo Snow Sports has an array of lessons and programs for the advanced rider. Consider a group or private lesson or a special program like HIP or WHIP. |

Group lessons are stacks of fun as everyone in your group is of the same ability, so you can all have a bit of a giggle with each other as you learn. Group lessons are suitable for anyone over 7 years.

Private Lessons br>
Taking a private lesson is like taking a session with a personal trainer as it's all about you. They work on your style, sort out your trouble spots, boost your skills levels and your confidence. It is flexible, you choose the time, the day, how long, the instructor and if you want to ski, board or telemark. You can have an hour or two, a full day or even a whole week. It’s cost effective, especially if you have a couple of friends of the same ability, then it becomes all about you all. To top off all the individual attention you even get lift priority so you will jump straight to the head of the queue.
Here's a rundown of the benefits of taking a private lesson:
- Individual attention
- Private lesson lift priority
- Request your preferred instructor at a time that suits you
- Tailor make a lesson to suit your needs, technique and ability on terrain that best suits you
